Abdominal aorta is the largest artery in the abdominal cavity. As part of the aorta, it is a direct continuation of the descending aorta. 

Branches of abdominal aorta: 

1. Ventral branches: 

      a) Coeliac trunk: Three parts -

              ▪️  Gastric artery

              ▪️  Hepatic artery.

              ▪️  Splenic artery.

     b)   Superior mesenteric artery. 

     c)   Inferior mesenteric artery. 

2. Lateral branches: 

     a)  Inferior phrenic artery.

3.  Dorsal branches:
